Fungujeme od roku 2006 a máme za sebou stovky koncertov, plných neopakovateľnej energie. Nerobíme rozdiely medzi koncertom v klube pre našich skalných fanúšikov a vystúpením na súkromnej párty či firemno večierku. Pre nás existuje len hudba a žijeme ňou. Písal sa rok 2006 a traja členovia legendárnej funkovej kapely MADE 2 MATE – Robo Rist, Martin Wittgruber a Radovan “Vrabec” Orth spolu s basgitaristom Patrikom Noskom založili novú kapelu, ktorá by ďalej niesla funkový odkaz s tým, že gro repertoáru budú tvoriť covery známych svetových funky hitov. A preto nemohla dostať príznačnejší názov ako FUNKIEZ. Do kapely však bol potrebný aj ženský vokál, a tak chlapci oslovili neskúsenú speváčku Sašu Okálovú, ktorá ale mala potenciál. Udalosti potom nabrali naozaj rýchly spád a do dnešného dňa, s výnimkov obdobia pandémie sme sa prakticky nezastavili. A hoci to nebolo v pláne, skúsili sme aj vlastnú tvorbu. Máme na konte aj niekoľko singlov, ako Král diskoték, Chcem Ťa stále, Kým si a najnovšie aj Ľúb ma takú, ktorú zložila spolu s dnes už ex-klávesistom Martinom Ferenčíkom, práve Sasha.

Počas fungovania kapely prišlo niekoľko krát k zmene členov, ale tá najzásadnejšia prišla v roku 2016, kedy Vrabca nahradil mladý, talentovaný Šimon Švidraň. Ten mal spočiatku veľmi náročnú úlohu, etablovať sa ako líder kapely, ale napriek tomu, že z FUNKIEZ v roku 2022 pomerne dramaticky odišiel, do kapely priniesol nový, svieži vietor a tóny inšpirácie. Po Šimonovom odchode na miesto lídra nastúpil fantastický gitarista, spevák a predovšetkým performer – Markus Daniel, pri ktorom sme chytili druhý dych. V súčasnej dobe jeho rolu prevzal Pavol Bereza – neskutočne fenomenálny gitarista s magickým hmatom, ktorého hra je ako vitamín pre našu kapelu.. Príďte sa pozrieť na našu show a uvidíte, že aj keď roky plynú, naša láska k funku je stale väčšia a pevnejšia. Je to náš život.

We’ve been grooving since 2006, with hundreds of gigs under our belt, each full of one-of-a-kind energy. Whether it’s a club show for our loyal fans or a private or corporate party, we give it all we’ve got. For us, it’s all about the music — we live for it.
It all started in 2006 when three members of the legendary funk band MADE 2 MATE — Robo Rist, Martin Wittgruber and Radovan “Vrabec” Orth — teamed up with bassist Patrik Nosko to form a new band to carry the funk legacy forward. The idea? A tight cover set of iconic funky hits. And what better name than FUNKIEZ?
But something was missing — a female voice. That’s when the guys invited in a young and inexperienced singer, Saša Okálová, who had serious potential. Things took off fast from there. Apart from the pandemic, we’ve basically never stopped. And even though it wasn’t part of the plan, we gave original music a shot too. We’ve released a few singles like Král diskoték, Chcem Ťa stále, Kým si, and our latest track Ľúb ma takú, co-written by Sasha and our former keyboardist Martin Ferenčík.

Sure, we’ve had some lineup changes over the years, but the most significant came in 2016, when Vrabec was replaced by the young and talented Šimon Švidraň. He had the tough job of stepping up as bandleader, and even though he left FUNKIEZ in 2022 under pretty dramatic circumstances, he brought fresh energy and creative spark.
After Šimon, the frontman role was taken over by the amazing guitarist, singer and all-around performer Markus Daniel — and that’s when we caught our second wind. Today, that spot belongs to Pavol Bereza — an unbelievably phenomenal guitarist with a magical touch. His playing is pure musical vitamins for us.
